NRSC Pressures Casey on Guns and Gorsuch with Radio Ad

nrscThe National Republican Senatorial Committee is airing its first Pennsylvania ad of the 2018 cycle. The radio ad attacks Senator Bob Casey on the Second Amendment, urging him to part with “anti-gun liberals” and support Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.

“If Bob Casey stands with the anti-gun liberals threatening to block Judge Neil Gorsuch’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, Pennsylvania voters will send someone to Washington who will have their backs,” NRSC spokesman Bob Salera said in the release about the ad.

Casey has not said how he will vote on the Gorsuch nomination.

“I will thoroughly review Judge Gorsuch’s record, particularly his appellate decisions and his answers to questions during the hearing and those submitted in writing afterward,” Casey said in a statement after Gorsuch’s nomination was announced.

The ad will air on Harrisburg-area radio during the Great American Outdoor Show this weekend. Typically, ad buys of this limited size and scope are aimed at earned media to set a narrative, rather than the direct impact of the ad.

“Our rights are at risk at the Supreme Court.  That’s why it’s urgent that our Senators approve President Trump’s choice for Supreme Court, Judge Neil Gorsuch,” the narrator of the ad says.

The ad urges Pennsylvanians to call Casey’s office and “tell him to support Judge Gorsuch.”

  1. Gun owners, sporting enthusiasts, please spread the word about this. Gun rights in Pennsylvania enjoy a long tradition of sport and target shooting, as well as hunting! Our rights to defend family and home from violent intruders is not negotiable! Please help to keep Pennsylvania strong and safe! Remember, if guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns!
