October 9th Playbook

New polling from FOX43/Susquehanna Polling and Research shows a majority of PA Democratic voters undecided on who to support in next year’s primary, while more people oppose marijuana legalization than support it. Here is the Playbook. 

FOX43/SP&R Poll: Majority of PA Dems Remain Undecided in Prez Primary: The new poll shows former Vice President Joe Biden leading the way with 17% support, while 52% remain undecided.

FOX43/SP&R Poll: Marijuana Legalization Support Lacking As Wolf Hops On Board: The latest poll conducted after Gov. Tom Wolf called for the marijuana legalization for adult recreational use shows that more people oppose his plan in the state than support it.

SD48: Duvall Announces Intentions for Dem Nomination: Duvall said his campaign will focus on supporting unions, raising the minimum wage, increasing access to high quality public education, and access to modern technologies.

Legislative Election Update: 
SD-1: Niki Saval, a leader in Philadelphia’s 2nd Ward and cofounder of Reclaim Philadelphia, is launching a bid against state Sen. Larry Farnese (D-Philadelphia) in the Democratic primary, according to Billy Penn. 

HD-30: Lissa Geiger Shulman, an education advocate and former teacher, announced a bid to run in the Democratic primary in hopes to face state Rep. Lori Mizgorski (R-Allegheny).

  1. Half of PA Dems might be undecided on which of numerous candidates to vote FOR, but they know for sure who they will vote AGAINST: Trump.

  2. Culturally, the marijuana train left the station a long time ago. Fine, we will spend another 10 years offering anecdotes about a distant relative who smoked marijuana and who was never the same or we will trot out fears about all the dangers that will happen if pot is legalized. News flash! It is legalized in an underground sense as lots of folks are lighting up on a regular basis along with more and more media stories of affable celebs who smoke marijuana. It’s now just waiting for the right time more than if it will happen. The pot battle is long since over and has been that way for many years.

  3. DePasquale’s fundraising numbers look strong in PA-10, and it’s all coming from people from PA. Scott Perry is toast.
