Philadelphia Republicans don’t have too many elected positions aside those guaranteed by the City Charter. In fact, to our knowledge, 10th District City Councilman Brian O’Neill is currently the only one. He’s served his northeast Philadelhpia district on council for 30 years.

He’s facing former Supervisor of Elections in the City Commissioners Bill Rubin, who some left-leaning observers believe is the biggest threat the councilman has faced in decades.

Perhaps O’Neill agrees. This ad hit the air Tuesday and is in heavy rotation on local cable.

The upbeat 30 second spot touts the Councilman’s record and features a dozen short testimonials from members of the community. The ad, obtained by PoliticsPA from the O’Neill campaign, was crafted by GOP TV guru Chris Mottola.
