Oz, McCormick Top Dueling Internal Polls

If you close your eyes, you can hear the sounds of dueling banjos in the background.

No sooner does Mehmet Oz release an internal poll showing that he leads the chase for the GOP Senate nomination in Pennsylvania, then David McCormick turns one out from a super PAC indicating that he, in fact, leads.

Oz released the results of a poll from Basswood Research (Md.) on Truth Social – the social media platform created by Trump Media & Technology Group. In a survey of 800 likely Republican voters, Oz received 24.8 percent of the votes, while McCormick was second at 21.6 percent. Carla Sands (13.4%) and Kathy Barnette (11.3%) also received double-digit support, while Jeff Bartos (5.0%) and George Bochetto (0.5%) were under that threshold. There were still nearly 200 respondents who indicated that they were undecided (23.4%). The margin of error is +/- 3.5%

The celebrity doctor held an 8.3 percent lead over McCormick among “Trump Movement” voters and a 4.8% advantage among all conservatives.

The Honor Pennsylvania commissioned poll showed the former Bridgewater Associates hedge fund CEO with a six-point lead over Oz, 22-16. McCormick’s lead is the same as the last Public Opinion Strategies (Va.) poll on the race back on February 23. This survey polled 600 likely GOP voters and had a +/- of four percent.

Barnette and Sands traded positions in the POS poll with 13 and 11 percent, respectively. Bartos was fourth at eight percent, while Bochetto drew 1% support. While the memo does not indicate the percent of responses that were undecided, adding the six candidates’ percentages leads to approximately 29 percent.

Among those who identify with Trump versus the GOP, McCormick also maintained a six-point lead.

In a straw poll of attendees at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference last weekend, Barnette was the clear winner with nearly 36 percent of the vote with Bartos (18.1%) and Sands (14.7%) were second and third, respectively. McCormick (14.1%) and Oz (12.1%) trailed.

    1. Bleep you. I strongly stand with these out of staters because they are strong MAGA leaders

  1. Cmon Republicans – reject the carpetbaggers and at least nominate a real Pennsylvanian .

  2. Dr. Oz is a fraud, masquerading as a conservative. The guy has been consistent for years inconsistent with conservative values. He is nothing more than a celebrity craving attention whose best connection to Pennsylvania is the wealthy suburbs of Philly… It would be a sham for him to receive either the Republican nomination or the Trump endorsement they are all trying so hard to get.

    1. Shut your mouth fraud. Dr. Oz is a wonderful human being who will be a great MAGA leader.

      1. You are the fraud, dumbass. You cannot even spell pittsburgh. Pathetically stupid impersonator.

  3. Emerson poll had Oz and McCormick tied which makes sense. Oz can’t spend the next several weeks taking incoming or he will lose. If Oz wins, Fetterman who struggled against Bartos in Lt Gov debate will really have a tough time with Oz. Fetterman’s best shot is with McCormick with all his Bridgewater baggage.

      1. the above post is completely factual and posted by the real gulagpittsburgh.

        1. Actually, both above posts are by a fraudulent impersonator. PoliticsPA knows that and does nothing to stop it.
