PA-08: Bresnahan Files For Candidacy

Rob Bresnahan Jr.

Rob Bresnahan Jr., the Chief Executive Officer at Kuharchik Construction, has filed a statement of candidacy to seek the Republican nomination for the 8th District Congressional seat held by Democrat Matt Cartwright.

He is the first Republican to indicate that he will challenge Cartwright in the northeastern region district of Pennsylvania.

The grandson of Walter and Rhonda Kuharchik of Kuharchik Construction, he started working for his grandparents when he was 19 years old.

The Pittston native serves as president of RPB Ventures LLC and also served on the Board of Directors for the Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).

He told the Sunday Dispatch in 2022 that he wanted to see his town transition back to its former glory just as the City of Pittston Mayor Michael Lombardo wishes.

Now, it seems he has his sights set on bigger things.

Bresnahan was a supporter of Mehmet Oz’s run for the U.S. Senate last fall.

Cartwright, who was first elected to the seat in 2012, defeated Bognet by 7,000 votes last November in one of the most-closely watched races in the Commonwealth and the country.

  1. Time for Lefty Matty to buckle up for this rollercoaster. Oh let’s hear how amazing your high speed train will be for NEPA again. Not saying this Bresnahan is great as I don’t know him yet but anyone can do better since you’ve done nothing.
