PA-14: Dziados Prepares Run Against Reschenthaler

Chris Dziados

Chris Dziados, a defense policy advisor, has filed a statement of candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the 14th Congressional District seat currently held by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler.

Dziados, a recently retired Army major, has worked in the Pentagon and with the U.S. Space Force. As a policy advisor, he focused on developing solutions to national strategic problems, working with the Department of Defense to gain consensus and resource programs in support of department priorities.

A native of Indiana County, he graduated from United High School and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Dziados, a commissioned officer in the Army, did two tours in Iraq. During the latter half of his Army career, he worked in close cooperation with the U.S. Air Force to develop and enhance U.S. military space systems. His technical expertise led to a Pentagon assignment in the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Policy, where Dziados supported the development of the U.S. Space Force and co-led the team responsible for establishing the United States Space Command, enabling the consolidation of all U.S. military space operations into one organization.

“Guy Reschenthaler has failed our district as he is more interested in furthering his own career than helping the people of Pennsylvania’s 14th Congressional district,” says Dziados’ website. “Southwestern PA deserves a Congressman who will work hard for you every day.”

His priorities include focuses on national security, supporting President Joe Biden’s ‘Build Back Better initiatives, preparing future generations for the jobs of tomorrow, safeguarding healthcare rights, and involving more Americans in the upcoming technological revolution.

Dziados becomes the fourth Democratic to enter the race, joining Kimberly FelanPhilip Vecchio, and Ken Bach.

Reschenthaler, who was first elected to Congress in 2018, defeated Democrat William Marx by 29 points in 2020 and did not face a challenger in 2022. He currently serves as the Chief Deputy Whip for the 118th Congress.
