PA-6: Trivedi Earns DFA Support

Democracy for America officially endorsed Democratic candidate Manan Trivedi in his third campaign for Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District seat.

Started by Vermont Governor Howard Dean in 2004, Democracy for America is a progressive political organization that sports over 1 million members nationwide.

This is the third endorsement that Trivedi has received from the group; DFA endorsed his campaign in his two prior attempts to unseat incumbent Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-Chester) in PA-6.

“Democracy for America members will be the boots on the ground providing the people-power Manan Trivedi will need to beat far-right, Paul Ryan-clone Ryan Costello in November,” Jim Dean, Howard’s brother and the Chair for Democracy for America. “The diverse communities of the Pennsylvania’s 6th District need a progressive leader like Manan Trivedi and DFA members are honored to stand with him in his fight to restore the middle class, protect our nation’s veterans, and raise the minimum wage.”

Costello, Trivedi’s challenger, is the Republican hoping to succeed Gerlach in PA-6. Neither candidate is opposed in the May primary.

“I am proud to once again receive the endorsement and support of Democracy for America and the community they have built over the past decade,” Trivedi said. “Whether it’s supporting a woman’s right to choose, protecting Medicare or fighting for economic opportunity and fairness to grow the middle-class, we continue to establish a broad coalition and having DFA on our side makes that coalition even stronger.”

DFA also has supported State Senator Daylin Leach and his campaign in Pa.’s 13th Congressional District.

I guess Manan Trevedi cant find enough people from the 6th! He should be embarrassed.
