The New Democrat Coalition, a national group of centrist Democrats, recently announced their support of several new candidates for the House, Dr. Manan Trivedi of PA-6 counted among them.
“These candidates understand that the key to our nation’s economic resurgence is a shared policy vision that will help to unlock our boundless innovative potential. As small-business owners, veterans, doctors and advocates, they represent America at its best,” Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.), the PAC’s chairman, said in a statement.
Trivedi is running to replace retiring Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-Chester). Gerlach originally announced his intent to retire back in January. The 6th District certainly leans a bit more to the right, with a Cook PVI rating of R+2, so Trivedi has quite the race ahead of him.
To help back him up, Trivedi has the support of other major Democratic organizations and leaders, including Democracy for America and the Montgomery County Democratic Committee.
Trivedi will face Republican favorite Ryan Costello come November. May 20th passed by with both candidates unopposed, as Trivedi’s potential primary opponent Mike Parrish withdrew from the race in March.

I have supported Manan from the beginning of this campaign and I believe he is one of the best positioned Democratic Congressional candidates in Pennsylvania to score an upset to reverse the damage from the do-nothing Republican Party.
It is all up to the ability of the people who vote Democratic to recognize the severe problems we have in our nation need a very active congress to solve. The Democratic voters must get active and if they don’t this nation is in for a lot more pain. We do need real leaders who will act.
The inclusion of this new group to aid in his campaign will be very helpful.
