PA-8: Speaker Ryan Fundraises for Fitzpatrick

Paul RyanSpeaker of the House Paul Ryan visited Bucks County today.

According to Tom Sofield of Levittown Now, Speaker Ryan was the featured guest at a fundraiser in Upper Makefield last night for PA-8 GOP nominee Brian Fitzpatrick.

Ryan had previously indicated that he would campaign for the Republican candidate. In his speech, he described a conversation he had with Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick.

“You better not leave us hanging. You better go get us a leaner version,” Ryan stated. “I didn’t know he was going to get his own brother.”

“[I’m] proud to support Brian Fitzpatrick and I think he would make an effective representative for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District,” the Speaker added in a statement.

“It’s an honor to have Speaker Ryan’s support of this campaign and belief in the importance of bringing my unique background as an FBI counter-terrorism and anti-corruption Special Agent to Congress,” Fitzpatrick responded.

The 8th Congressional District represents all of Bucks County as well as parts of upper Montgomery County.

  1. Ryan endorses Trump for President.

No journalist should mention his name without mentioning that. Don’t let him get away with being AWOL when people needed to stand up to this hateful, dangerous person running for President.

  2. Which Fitzpatrick? The soon-to-be-unemployed one (assuming he does not have a fat salary coming as a lobbyist for whatever industry he used to regulate)? Or the brother soon to take over the other’s old job in the family enterprise, Congress?

  3. Neither Mike not Brian Fitzpatrick are wealthy. They are both down to earth hardworking middle class Americans who believe in their civic duty to their country. That is hardly a dynasty. I say kudos to mom and dad for raising children who work hard to do right by our country and protect our constitution. Have you read Brian’s resume? The man clearly is more than qualified for the challenges of today’s political environment. Check out Steves. NO CONTEST

  4. Repulsive – this just shows what is wrong with Washington and the 435 seats in Congress. The citizens in the congressional districts don’t own the districts, the 2 parties in DC do. The members of the most exclusive club in America take care of their own. Bud Shuster decides to retire and everyone falls all over themselves to make sure son Billy succeeds him. Now, one Fitzpatrick leaves, but moves his brother in to take his place. WAKE UP PEOPLE. A clear majority of the members of Congress are millionaires – and you wonder why the 1% get taken care of but you don’t.
