PA-9: Shuster Endorses Donald Trump For President

Bill-ShusterDays after winning his primary, Congressman Bill Shuster has decided to back Donald Trump for President.

“The people of the 9th Congressional District, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and states across the nation have made their voices heard, and I join them in supporting Donald Trump for President,” said Congressman Shuster. “Donald is a private sector business leader who knows what it takes to get things done – and that is something that Washington desperately needs. Donald also shares my passion for economic development, including making sure our nation’s infrastructure meets the needs of our citizens. It’s time for our party to unite behind Donald Trump and focus our time and energy on defeating Hillary Clinton.”

“I am proud today to have the endorsement of Congressman Bill Shuster,” said Donald Trump. “As the Chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, Bill Shuster knows what it takes to make our economy work again. As one of the leaders of the Pennsylvania Delegation, I welcome Bill’s leadership and vision to our team.  Bill is a strong conservative voice in Congress, and together we will rebuild our infrastructure and deliver on the promise to Make America Great Again.”

With Shuster’s endorsement, Trump moves closer to obtaining the amount of delegates needed to secure the Republican nomination. In addition to retaining his congressional seat earlier this week, Shuster was also elected as one of the three delegates from his district.

Shuster is the third PA Congressman to endorse Trump, after Reps. Tom Marino and Lou Barletta.

The 9th Congressional District consists of all or parts of Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fayette, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Somerset, Washington and Westmoreland Counties.

Heya this is somewhat of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG
editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding know-how so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience.
Any help would be enormously appreciated!

JM, I forget…did he win? Just like he did the last 8 times? Did the majority of republicans his district vote for him in yet another primary? Gosh, it just seems to me that if they keep voting for the guy, they must like him. Cause if not, that would be kind of silly wouldn’t it?

Bob and his army of keyboard warriors have been desperately clinging to the hope that their candidates will eventually win an election. This is honestly one of my favorite times of the year. Guzzardi tears fall like April showers. There’s always a reason for the “RINO’s” winning. The reality is, they win because they do their jobs.

Absolutely right Jimmy. Shuster is so well liked that he lost in 8 out of the 12 counties in his district and got just 50.5% of the vote from his own party. People like Bob Guzzardi who want someone new are a tiny minority lunatic fringe.

  4. Jimmy D says:

And amazingly enough Bob, you and your cronies still think that you’re on the right side of the will of the people. I’m sure you think it’s the money, or that you just weren’t able to get your message out.

At some point you guys are just going to have to accept that these “RINO’s” (which you consistently refer to them as)must actually be pretty well liked in their districts.

Either that, or you and your angry minority must just be soooo much smarter than the rest of us.

Thus far, not a single Republican congressman, no matter how liberal or corrupt, has gone down in a primary.

  6. Michael Kessler says:

Trump is a private sector business leader who knows what it takes to get things done – and that is something that Washington desperately needs. The same thing, basically, was said about Herbert Hoover. Think about that.

  7. John says:

Shuster is just the sort of idiot that should have been voted out. He is the type of congressman that the electorate is fed up with, beholden to the airline industry and big business. To the narrow minded voters who put him back in office, you get what you deserve.

  8. jmarshak says:

If Bill knows what it takes to make the economy work again, why hasn’t he done it in the last 16 years? PA still has the worst roads and bridges in America despite him and his dad being the chair of Transport.

If he would have done this earlier he would have won with a huuuuuge margin.

  11. Rage in the Cage says:

Maybe he wanted to simply endorse a candidate without using it for his own political advantage?

  12. PhillyPolitico says:

Why wait until two days after the primary? Trump cleaned up in his district.

  13. gulagPittsburgh says:

Of course he does. Donald Trump does not bother to get his jet certified to operate under the airline regulations that Shuster is supposedly overseeing (with the help of his airline lobbyist concubine).
