PA-9: Shuster Thanked for Export-Import Bank Support in New Ad (VIDEO)

A new commercial produced by the Chamber of Commerce is thanking Congressman Bill Shuster for “fighting to save jobs” in PA.

Shuster has been pushing for an extension of the Export-Import Bank’s charter in Washington and is now being commended for it, after being the target of Club for Growth spots a few weeks ago.

The Ex-Im’s charter is set to expire on June 30, unless Congress acts, “putting thousands of Pennsylvania jobs at risk,” the thirty-second spot asserts.

“The Export-Import Bank helps Pennsylvania businesses beat tough overseas competition and sell their products around the world,” the spot continues.

Recently, there have been showdowns on Capitol Hill – which will only intensify – over a long-term extension for the Export-Import Bank.

“Call Congressman Shuster and thank him for standing with conservatives to fight for Pennsylvania jobs,” the ad concludes.

  1. Bill Shuster is to “Conservative” as President Obama is to “Honest Politician.” Shuster continues to vote for those who thicken his wallet instead of those who blindly vote for him. Let’s hope Tom Smith ends the Shuster Dynasty and finally gives the 9th District a voice of reason.

  2. By stating that Bill Shuster is a conservative shows that particular statement is a oxymoron. Here are some real conservatives that are against the Export-Import Bank charter.
Justin Amash, Dave Brat, Jeb Hensarling, Jim Jordan, and Mia Love. There are 92 true conservatives fighting against corporate welfare.

  3. The Chamber of Commerce probably sent in some leggy gal over to “lobby” Shuster on this. It worked wonders for the airline industry!

And how dare anyone who supports Ex-Im call themselves conservative. The Ex-Im bank exists only to benefit a few huge corporations, none of which have significant presence in PA that I know of.

The Heritage Foundation explains it very well:
