PA Dems: Corbett’s New Ad Ignores Record on Spending

Corbett’s New Ad Ignores Record on Spending

Harrisburg, PA – Today, Tom Corbett released a new ad that ignores his record on requesting and spending taxpayer dollars.

“As Attorney General, Tom Corbett has requested higher spending in his office every year,” said Mark Nicastre, spokesman with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party. “Even this year as agencies throughout state government have been forced to cut spending, Corbett requested a 13 percent increase for his office. Just a few weeks ago, he even refused to reduce his spending by just 1.9 percent. Tom Corbett talks tough on spending but the fact is he’s just another politician who says one thing and does another.”

Tom Corbett has requested a spending increase each year in office. “Corbett’s proposed spending in increases for his state offices have ranged from 3.9 percent during the 2008-09 fiscal year to a high of 13 percent for the 2010-11 fiscal year.” [PA2010, 9/15/10]
