PA-Gov: Christie Campaigns for Corbett in Bucks

Chris Christie has been Tom Corbett’s number one campaign surrogate this year and he finished with a fiery rally in Bucks County on Sunday night.

The New Jersey Governor emphasized his connection to Gov. Corbett in his remarks to a crowded ballroom whose attendance the Intelligencer estimated at 300 and the Inquirer at 680.

“I’m telling you I know this man,” Christie said. “I know him well, I’ve seen him in difficult moments, really trying moments.”

“When I picked up the phone and asked for help he was always there,” he continued. “We had Hurricane Sandy, Tom Corbett was there. With forty eight hours left [until the election] that’s why I’m here. Because when your friend’s being challenged, you stand up next to him.”

Christie, who as RGA chair has given $6 million to the Corbett-Cawley campaign, has made three trips to help out his neighboring colleague.

This trek was held at the same time that Wolf was hosting President Barack Obama at Temple University. The New Jersey Governor took some shots at the President, saying his support of Wolf will cripple the Democrat’s campaign.

“One more half-baked Obama rally and Corbett will win by double digits,” Christie predicted.

  1. I’d take Christie over Tom Steyer and company (Wolf’s backers) any day. Christie is a democratically elected politician. Steyer is a billionaire trying to buy elections around the country with dark money. Unacceptable to me. And he’s pushing his global warming agenda which isn’t grounded in fact. Accusing Republicans of ignoring science is pure hypocrisy when Steyer is just making stuff up for his scare campaign. Is this really the influence you want in the governor’s mansion?

  2. goevenore corbitt is gonna win in a land slide on elctn day and all the poles are shore of that, cuz the way it works in pennsy, is that guvs can be guv for 8 yrs at a time and than they got to go let the other party’s candate become gov for 8 yrs,

  3. Christie and Corbett are both fiscally irresponsible Republicans who have seen their respective state’s credit ratings downgraded because they failed to adequately fund and reform pensions. The RGA under Christie has been fiscally irresponsible putting that kind of money into a race that Corbett is certain to lose. That money would have been better spent in WI, FL, or even blue states like MD and RI which have much closer poll numbers than Corbett.
