Well, this is certainly out-of-the box yet also seasonally appropriate.
Just in time for Halloween, the Corbett-Cawley campaign released a horror-themed attack ad at Democratic nominee Tom Wolf.
“You think this is scary?” begins a chainsaw wielding man. “Have you seen Tom Wolf’s plan for raising the state income tax.” (Extra points for the “No Taxpayers Were Harmed in the Making of this Ad” disclaimer).
The man notes that one study asserts that Wolf would double taxes and a narrator states that a vote for Wolf would be a vote for cutting your pay.
“And that’s just plain crazy,” chainsaw man concludes. “Tom Wolf, his higher taxes are so frightening, it even scares people who scare people for a living.”
Among the horror movie references present in the thirty-second spot titled “Scary Movie”: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Shining, Halloween, The Ring, Friday the Thirteenth, The Wolfman, Dawn of the Dead, Tales from the Crypt and IT.
