While the Democratic candidates has thus far refrained from attacking each other, negative ads about Governor Corbett are fair game.
State Treasurer Rob McCord has made clear his strategy is to hammer Corbett as much as possible.
This isn’t the first time McCord and Corbett have gotten into a fight but the former’s latest commercial seems to indicate that there’ll be more to come.
“First, Rob McCord took on Tom Corbett’s plan to privatize the lottery and McCord won,” the narrator states. “Now he’s fighting Tom Corbett’s sweetheart deal for the natural gas industry.”
The spot goes on to tout McCord’s plan for a ten percent extraction tax on drilling in order to restore the Governor’s education cuts.
“If we’re looking for someone to take on Tom Corbett, Rob McCord is the only one who has,” the ad concludes.
The candidate initially tried to go the biographical route with his ads yet polling has indicated that his efforts weren’t as successful as they were for the front-runner Tom Wolf. This new advertising strategy appears to be an attempt to leverage the disgust that Democratic primary voters have for Corbett into support for McCord.
The other Democratic candidates for Governor are Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz and former DEP Secretary Katie McGinty.
suck on this lariat troll
Corbett, that’s who has the advantage over these commie freaks.
Although Schwartz is now on the air, the key seems to keep coming back to who has the best combination of field troops and strategic media buys. One leads up to May 20, the other makes you the gubernatorial nominee on May 21. Put together and honed over the summer, puts you in the Governors Mansion.
Who has that advantage?
