PA-Gov: Quinnipiac Poll: Wolf’s Approval Plummets to 35%

wolf-sadThe long, frustrating budget battle has taken its toll on Governor Wolf.

According to the latest Quinnipiac Poll, Wolf’s approval rating dropped six points over the past six months and twelve points over the last ten months.

At the moment, Gov. Wolf’s approval rating sits at just 35%. A majority of respondents, 52%, disapprove of the job he’s doing.

Wolf’s numbers are above water with only three groups: blacks (60/21); Democrats (59/28); and 18-34 year olds (40/37).

This survey was conducted by Quinnipiac University using live interviewers calling land lines and cell phones from March 30th to April 4th. They contacted 1,737 registered voters. The margin of error is +/- 2.4%.

  1. William Anderson go call yourself a fool. And you have always been one. Your age doesn’t excuse your fourth grade mind.

  2. While not a perfect Govenor he will be there eight years. The last four with a workable Congress and Legislature.

  3. This is a shame. It is easier to blame one person as opposed to one party, the GOP. It is TOTALLY the fault of the GOP but the budget impasse lasted too long. Now the blame game begins in prep for the Nov election. If we dont pick up some seats, we Dems are toast until 2022!

  4. Surround yourself with bad people and you suffer the consequences. First Katie (I don’t hold a job as long as Sarah Palin) McGinty and then Mary (what do I do next Ed?) Isenhower running Wolf’s train. This is a real shame. Wolf is a smart man with great ideas and was sucked up into the vortex of incompetent advisors. Time to clean house.

  5. It’s a bit premature to declare his re-election chances dead this early in the game. I suspect that is mostly wishful thinking from people who never wanted him to be governor in the first place. It will be interesting to see how the balance in the General Assembly shakes out after this election and how the Republicans come up with a solution to the $2-billion deficit they created with their budget gimmicks and wishful thinking.

  6. When is the fabulous legislature going to deal with the 2 Billion deficit carried over from TC’s administration without the smoke and mirrors and a hope and a prayer?

  7. Governor Wolf is an total disgrace. How sad for Pennsylvania, now sad for the Democrats of Pennsylvania.
Wolf and his worthless get even staff need to go.
WTF Mary Isenhour Chief of Gov Staff/Democrat Party Executive director (don’t fool yourself that Sin girl doesn’t know what day of the week it is, She is a WOLFPACK reject placement) husband Patton works for the State House are you people NUTS???? Patton serves one house Mary Wolfs house.
When is the right to know requests coming to show Wolf and his get even Mary email and phone records going to be exposed? Mary you will look cute in the Orange outfit-maybe you can dress it up a little. Get even politics on Tax dimes = jail time.
Wolfpack and their political games against the lucky 13-will get you jail time.
AG Kane parting gift-Wolf in jail and his little pack as well.
You are a disgrace. Wolf Resign!!!

  8. As I wrote elsewhere on this website [the poll regarding 47%-approval for AG-Kane]:

“My guestimate [that she would have been removed by now] had been based on the fact that a few senate-dems had made noise suggesting they would place obvious-truth over party-loyalty; sadly, my hopes proved misplaced.

“In any case, my underlying posture was predicated on the fact that it was to the benefit of dems to resolve this issue ASAP; thus, i feel that its having lingered has predictably tarnished wolf.”

  9. Jeez-

Funny you should mention me. I am working on saving the day… more on that in a few weeks.

  10. Sounds like Mr. Wolf will be a one termer. Who will the state dems pick now? Maybe Josh Shapiro will run for GOV. since the Big Z will be smacking him in the Primary in the AG race.

  11. These people still haven’t gotten over their messiah Rob McCord losing and when are David Diano and Alan Kennedy Shaffer going to save the day?

  12. Absolutely…almost everyone on here is 100% correct! Wolf should’ve caved more.

Just give Turdseye and Metcalf everything they’ve ever wanted. Close all public schools, funnel all taxpayer money to stupid charters, pollute the state some more with your stinky gas wells and intertwine religion with government.

Soak the commonwealth red with blood just like our ancestors from Europe did.

    Awesome! 😉

  13. Last December, Mr. Wolf did not tell the truth about the legislature’s final education budget. He said they cut it, when in reality, it was raised. I, like many, have little use for those who misrepresent the truth. Many folks who disagree with me politically act with integrity, and they have my respect. Mr. Wolf is not one of these.

  14. Tom Wolf when will you start to govern? When will you stop campaigning? Your Government That Works tour with your sidekick Josh Shapiro and Katie McGinty is an embarrassment and an ethics violation. And now this.

Senators Lisa Baker and Andy Dinniman were right!!!!
You should fire your whole staff.

  15. We have another opening Governor Wolf and you are invited! We have a special seat in the club for you next to Tom Corbett . We have a lot of perks that go with the club that will make your failures seem not so bad. Our special, small golf course with with all day ice cream, pony rides, a carousel and food service area with a nice little menu. We will be in touch in 2018. Tom Corbett cannot wait to see you.

  16. What is the legislature’s approval rating? My guess is that his approval rating vs that of the legislature is similar to that of the President vs Congress. Color me a 69 year old white guy who approves of the job he is doing

  17. The budget debacle hurt Wolf. But what did it do to GOP favorability numbers? Put this matter in context please.

  18. Shapiro is already planning to primary Wolf, if OneTermTom doesn’t come to his senses and return to kitchen cabinet duty.
