PA-Gov: Wolf Selects Board for Philadelphia Regional Port Authority

John-DoughertyGov. Tom Wolf has announced his picks to the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority Board.

The Governor named Brandywine Realty Trust President and CEO Gerard Sweeney to the post of Chairman. In addition to Sweeney, Wolf has also selected six other board members including: Yassmin Gramian, the Senior Vice President of HNTB; Robert J. Clark, Associate of Ballard Spahr; Michael Pearson, President of Union Packaging; Paul McNichol, Partner of McNichol, Bryne, & Matlawski; and John Skoutelas, Vice President and General Counsel for the Eastern Group, Waste Management.

However, the most notable pick is John Dougherty, the Business Manager and Union Leader of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 98, the most powerful labor leader in Philadelphia and perhaps the entire commonwealth.

“I am proud to have Chair Sweeney leading this important regional asset,” Wolf said. “His expertise in economic development and market capitalization will be a tremendous resource for PRPA.”

“I’ve selected a number of economic development leaders to serve on the board,” the Governor continued. “Philadelphia’s port is vital to our economic success and these professionals will help the Commonwealth create jobs that pay for middle-class families.”

  1. Danny c I have an idea what you do for a living and if I’m right you have your own leadership to blame for your problems not John!

  2. John Dougherty is for the common folk who other politicians have ignored. He is a voice for the people of Philadelphia.

  3. Johnny Doc is a scab. He cares only about his own political ambitions at the expense of the union members he is supposed to serve.

  4. why do you call Doc a crook do yo know him are you aware of any crimes he’s committed are you aware of thing great things that he and his union do in respect to charity?!so to call him a crook is unwarranted and uninformed!

  5. You know that unions have Wolf in their back pocket when the guy won’t even serve free Yuengling at his inauguration.

  6. Wow. Johnny Doc is the biggest crook in Philly – excepting only David Cohen. I wonder what Doc has on Wolf?

  7. Johnny Doc was one of Allyson Schwartz’ biggest backers in the primary. Maybe he had little animosity towards Wolf in doing so, but still. He was an Allyson guy.
