PA-Gov: Wolf Welcomes World Meeting of Families Visitors to the Commonwealth (VIDEO)

Earlier today, Governor Tom Wolf welcomed World Meeting of Families visitors to Philadelphia via video.

In his welcome message, Wolf  described this visit as a “once-in-a-lifetime event.”

He went on to emphasize his focus on the safety and health of area residents and visitors, stating that it is the Administration’s top priority.

“The Department of Health, PEMA, and PennDOT are working to make sure resources, including water, food and fuel are available to travelers in need, but you will help first responders if you are prepared,” Wolf said.

As described on their website, the World Meetings of Families is the “world’s largest Catholic gathering of families.”

The theme of World Meetings of Families – Philadelphia 2015 is “Love is Our Mission: The Family Fully Alive.”

The event’s headliner is Pope Francis, who is visiting the City of Brotherly Love as well as New York and D.C. during his first trip to the United States.

“This important event should be an incredible memory for everyone attending and millions watching across the globe,” Wolf closes. “On behalf of all Pennsylvanians, I hope that you enjoy this awesome event and that we can use this opportunity to show off our great state to the world.”
