Harrisburg City Councilman and Lieutenant Governor candidate Brad Koplinski unveiled three separate labor endorsements that his campaign received today.

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 143, Laborers International Union Local 1180 and the American Federation of Government Employees Local 3145 all announced that they have endorsed Koplinski’s candidacy for Pennsylvania’s second-highest elected post.

“Throughout his time in public service, Brad has proven that he has and will stand up for working people,” IBEW Local 143 Business Manager Rob Blair said. “We are proud to endorse him.”

“I am honored to receive the endorsements of these great Labor organizations,” Koplinski stated in response. “They stand up for working people every day and I am proud that they are standing with me.”

IBEW Local 143 and Laborers Local 1180 are based in Harrisburg, which Koplinski represents in the city council. AFGE Local 3145 is located in Gettysburg.

The campaign also noted that Koplinski himself has belonged to two different labor unions during his life. First, he was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers as a teenage grocery clerk. Later he became part of the National Treasury Employees Union during his time as an attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel at the IRS.

Other Democratic candidates for Lt. Governor include Harrisburg city advisor Brenda Alton, former Congressman Mark Critz, Bradford County Commissioner Mark Smith, State Senator Mike Stack, State Rep. Brandon Neuman and former PSU assistant football coach Jay Paterno.
