PA-Sen: Dem Group Attacks Toomey on SCOTUS Stance (VIDEO)

Toomey SCOTUS AdSenator Pat Toomey is one of the targets of a nation-wide campaign to spur action on President Obama’s Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland.

Majority Forward, a Democratic 501(c)4 organization, is making web ads that urged a number of Republican Senators to confirm Garland.

Senators Kelly Ayotte (New Hampshire), Ron Johnson (Wisconsin) and Rob Portman (Ohio) were also subjects of their own web spots, likely because they are seeking re-election in blue states this year. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, though, is also included.

“Senator Toomey is at it again, putting Washington politics over people,” the narrator of the ad states. “Refusing to vote on the Supreme Court nominee, ignoring Pennsylvanians and the Constitution. We need the Senator to do his job. Tell Senator Toomey, ‘Enough, do your job.’”

The fifteen second clips are set to run as pre-rolls on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Altogether, $350,000 is being spent on this effort.

Despite meeting with Garland this week, however, Sen. Toomey remains committed to not voting on the vacancy until after the presidential election.

  1. Hey Rob. What happened to the Constitution and the “Rule of Law” you guys are always talking about? There is nothing “strong” about Toomey refusing to do his job. Plus – Hillary will just appoint someone MORE LIBERAL.

  2. Stay strong, Senator Toomey! #NoHearingsNoVotes! We do not need another Progressive Liberal on the U.S. Supreme Court!
