PA-Sen: McGinty Launches New Ad (VIDEO)

Democratic Senate nominee Katie McGinty recently launched a new TV ad.

The thirty-second spot, titled “I Am”, largely attempts to define and introduce Katie McGinty to Pennsylvania voters on a personal level.

It starts with two people saying, “I’m not a Wall Street insider” and “I don’t own a bank”. These first two statements are a clear attack on McGinty’s opponent, Senator Pat Toomey, whose Wall Street ties have become a frequent talking point for McGinty.

The commercial then pivots to McGinty herself who declares, “I’m a wife and mother of 3 daughters and…as your Senator I’ll work for you to make college affordable, protect social security, and stop bad trade deals.”

“For too long Pennsylvania families have picked up the tab for Wall Street and Special interests,” she closes. “I approve this message because it’s your time to get ahead.”

This latest ad comes as the PA senate race draws to a dead heat between McGinty and Toomey.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also promoted the spot.

  1. Everyone likes to bash Philly, but note that not a single elected or appointed Philadelphia City Official has been indicted in a decade. No other branch of government in the state can say that (State House, State Senate, Supreme Court, Congressional delegation etc. all have indictments). Any why? Because Philly, unlike the corrupt Harrisburg politicians, passed ethics reform and limited campaign contributions overall, and banned them from those seeking to do business with the city, and installed an enforcement mechanism. You can’t miss a writing a comma on your campaign finance reports without getting into hot water with the Philly ethics board. http://www.newsworks.org/index.php/off-mic/item/96181?linktype=hp_blogs

So let’s ease up on the “Philly corrupt machine” bs and point the finger where it belongs – Harrisburg, where both parties are to blame.

  2. Hey Tired you want to talk history let’s talk about Toomey working exclusively for a Chinese billionaire for three years trading derivatives (currency manipulation ) and being the Koch a Brothers biggest supporter in the Senate.

  3. Katie will have to do way better than that if she expects to compete with the Bloomberg-sponsored Toomey ad that’s running during the Olympics.

  4. Guess she forgot to say, “I am a government insider, gas company profiteer, backed by the philly corrupt machine.” I’m sure someone will remind people that she forgot though.
