PA-Sen: PA Dems Accuse Toomey of Flip-Flopping (VIDEO)

Senator Pat Toomey was quite critical of Wells Fargo Chairman and CEO John Stumpf on Tuesday at the Senate Banking Committee Meeting.

The PA Democratic Party, however, found Toomey’s questioning to be hypocritical.

The Wells Fargo fines were the results of fake accounts the bank set up that were uncovered by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Toomey, though, opposed the creation of the CFPB.

The web ad, created by the PA Dems, contrasts Toomey’s questions this week to statements he made in the past about the CFPB and Wall Street regulation in general.

The video ends with Toomey reciting the definition of fraud and accuses the Senator of a “fraudulent tune change on Wall Street accountability”.

  1. Toomey is a liar who was pretending outrage to try to fool PA voters to send him back to the Senate. Sound bites make good campaign ad quotes. Then he would just vote his pro-Wall Street line as usual.

  2. While I’m sympathetic to the message, how many people know what CFPB and, perhaps to a lesser degree, Dodd-Frank are without explanation?
