PA-Sen: Toomey Releases Pair of New Ads (VIDEOS)

Pat Toomey is making the case that he deserves a second term.

Actually, he is letting PA residents make that case for him in two new TV ads.

In the first, titled “Saving Lives”, a mental health care provider describes how Sen. Toomey has fought the heroin epidemic in Pennsylvania.

“It’s absolutely frightening. Pat Toomey has been fighting this battle for years. Believe me, I’ve seen it,” she says. “Pat Toomey’s commitment to this issue is not just impressive; it is saving lives.”

In the second spot, titled “Work”, a refinery employee recounts how the Senator worked to keep his factory open.

“When the previous owner decided to shut the doors, many of us thought we’d have to move out of state to find work again,” he states. “But Pat Toomey worked across the aisle to bring these idle facilities back to life. My family believes in Pat Toomey.”

Toomey is running uncontested in the April 26th GOP primary. Braddock Mayor John Fetterman, former Chief of Staff to Gov. Wolf Katie McGinty and former Congressman Joe Sestak are all running for the Democratic nomination.

  1. The lady in the drug commercial looks like she’s stoned out of mind. Nice to see the Sen. apparently finally approves of marijuana.

  2. Toomey looks like a dufus standing next to working men. I recall Dukakis in a tank.

  3. Will PoliticsPA make a big deal about the endorsement by Philly Inquirer of Joe Sestak. They make a big deal about the smallest, insignificant endorsements for every other candidate. Always a “head shot” of the candidate and then the endorsement. Inquirer is a fairly substantial endorsement I would imagine. Let’s see what PoliticsPA does with this one…..
