PA7: Wild Brings In $355K in Q2

Stronger than the first quarter.

Rep. Susan Wild’s (D-Lehigh) campaign raised $355,000 from the beginning of April to the end of June, while spending just over $120,000 during this time period. The second quarter haul from the Wild campaign is a significant jump from the $225,000 brought in the previous quarter

The freshman Democrat has now raised just under $650,000 in the election cycle-to-date

In contrast from the first quarter, Wild’s fundraising total in the most recent fundraising report shows the Lehigh Valley Democrat outpacing the rest of the targeted Democrats in the state, but trailing most House Democratic freshman.

The Allentown Morning Call reports that Wild raised more in the 2nd quarter than fellow Democratic Reps. Matt Cartwright (D-Lackawanna) and Conor Lamb (D-Allegheny), who are the three Democrats in the state that the NRCC is targeting for 2020. However, Wild was not one of the 33 freshman Democrats who raised at least $500,000 from the beginning of April to the end of June, according to according to National Journal analysis of Federal Election Commission filings

Wild’s campaign entered the month of July with over $420,000 cash on hand.

During her 2018 bid for Congress, she consistently outraised her GOP counterpart, Marty Nothstein.

Wild already has a GOP opponent for 2020 who has filed a campaign finance report with the FEC. Dean Browning, a former Lehigh County commissioner, raised $35,000 from the beginning of April to the end of June, according to the Morning Call. He currently has $135,000 cash on hand, while much of his funding is from a $100,000 personal loan he made to his campaign earlier in the year.

One Response

  1. Good luck to the GOP trying to oust any of them. Lamb is now in a perfect CD for him. Wilds CD is getting bluer and bluer. I guess under certain conditions, Cartwright could be vulnerable. Not now though.
