Peduto Yells for McGough for Court of Common Pleas (VIDEO)

Judge Hugh McGough, who has already received the endorsements of Allegheny Chief Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto, released a video today in which Mayor Peduto actually raises his voice for McGough.

The ad, which draws similarities to a Chevy Chase SNL skit from the 1970s, features Peduto repeating McGough’s talking points by shouting into the camera with his hands cupped around his mouth.

McGough tells viewers that, “…it’s hard to get voters’ attention when you are running for judge. Mayor Peduto is helping me out.”

Pittsburgh-based Democratic consultant Marty Marks, who wrote and co-produced the ad along with Chris Ivey, said, “We wanted to find a way to break through the chatter on broadcast television and drive home some important points about Judge McGough.”

“We know we have an outstanding candidate, but we also know we don’t have nearly as big a budget as some of our own opponents, so we wanted to create a break-through TV ad to get voters’ attention,” continued Marks. “With the help of Mayor Peduto and the creative and technical talents of Chris Ivey, we think we’ve nailed it.”

McGough was elected District Judge in 2011 and comes highly recommended by the Allegheny County Bar Association.

  1. I know I am prejudiced since our parents were best friends, but I love this ad. Good luck, Hugh!

  2. What a terrific and creative ad for an equally terrific candidate. All judges should be as well qualified and impartial as Hugh McGough. He is exactly what we need on the bench in Pittsburgh.
