Pence to Headline ‘Workers for Trump’ Event in Luzerne County

On Tuesday afternoon, Vice President Mike Pence will return to Pennsylvania to headline a “Workers for Trump” event in Luzerne County. According to a release from the Trump campaign, the event is slated to take place at Kuharchik Construction, Inc. in Exeter.

“Vice President Mike Pence will travel to Exeter, Pennsylvania on Tuesday, September 1st, to advocate for President Donald J. Trump’s pro-growth, pro-jobs agenda,” a release from Trump’s campaign reads. “While Joe Biden and Kamala Harris lay out an agenda that would hurt the economy through their embrace of high taxes, burdensome regulations, and bad trade deals, President Trump and Vice President Pence continue to put American workers first.”

The Pennsylvania Democratic Party shot out a statement slamming the Trump administration’s policies on trade and China in response to Pence’s upcoming visit.

“Just like this past week’s Republican Convention that did nothing but highlight the crisis facing our economy, Pence’s rally on Tuesday will do nothing to help the workers who’ve been crushed by the Trump administration’s reckless trade war and failure to stand up to China,” said Pennsylvania Democratic Party spokesman Andres Anzola. “Families in northeastern Pennsylvania deserve good union jobs, not four more years of this.”

Pence has made several visits to the state over the past few months, with his most recent trip being in late July headlining a “Cops for Trump” event in Westmoreland County and leading a conversation on America’s economic recovery following the coronavirus pandemic in Somerset County.

According to the Citizens Voice, Tuesday’s event will be Pence’s third visit to Luzerne County since October 2018.

President Donald Trump’s most recent visit to the state was on August 20 in Old Forge where he described Biden as Pennsylvania’s “worst nightmare.” Trump’s next appearance in the state will be on Thursday evening in Westmoreland County.

Former Vice President Joe Biden returned to the Keystone State today to deliver an address in Pittsburgh pinning the blame on Trump for nationwide violence. Prior to Biden’s Monday afternoon visit to the state, his most recent trip was on July 9 when he delivered an economic recovery address in Lackawanna County

Recent polling shows that Biden has a narrow edge over Trump in the state. The Real Clear Politics average shows Biden besting Trump by 4.7 points in Pennsylvania.

  1. They tanked the economy by not getting the pandemic under control and now want to claim they’re pro jobs lol that wishful thinking isn’t paying the rent or buying food. But look the stock market is going well and helps Trump and Pence and their rich donors.

  2. People in Pa are hard working and no nonsense voters no matter what part of the state. We don’t have a Hamptons and we just want the bottom line. Trump put on one great smoke and mirrors show that Siegfried and Roy would have saluted in 2016. Scott Wagner tried to run a gubernatorial race with that format and it tanked badly. The state is centrist so Trump won’t lose by more than 8 to 10% but Biden is a home towner and never walked away from Scranton so with that connection Pa will go Dem and sweep Cartwright, Finello and DePasquale with Biden into office for the 2021 Congress.

    1. Biden has the Democrat playbook down. Have a pair of shoes in a closet somewhere within the city limits and claim you’re a city resident.

  3. Maybe he will explain where all of those mining jobs that Trump promised on his previous visits to NEPA are, or maybe he will just lie and claim Trump created thousands of jobs in PA mines.
