Pennsylvania Building and Trades Council Endorses Ceisler

Ellen-CeislerThe Pennsylvania Building and Trades Council endorsed Judge Ellen Ceisler in her run for the Commonwealth Court.

“Your support for the construction workers and their issues has distinguished you among your colleagues, and has benefitted countless hardworking Pennsylvanians,” President of the Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council Frank A. Sirianni said in a letter announcing the endorsement.

The Council consists of 16 regional councils, and over 98 local unions, representing over 130,000 construction workers.

“The Commonwealth Court can significantly impact the lives of working men and women throughout Pennsylvania. I am extremely grateful for the endorsement of the Pennsylvania State Building and Construction Trades Council and their vote of confidence that I will fulfill the responsibilities of this position with integrity and independence,” Ceisler told PoliticsPA in an email.

Ceisler is running on the Democratic ticket for one of the two open seats on the Commonwealth Court.

Disclosure: Ellen Ceisler was formerly married to Larry Ceisler, one of the owners of PoliticsPA.

  1. The notion that a judge would “support” a particular segment of the population (e.g., construction workers) and “their issues” is repugnant to the rule of law.

Frank Sirianni doesn’t know any better.

  2. Would a story have been published if the union had endorsed another candidate?
