The Hill’s annual “50 Most Beautiful” boasts three Pennsylvania politicos this year – a staffer, a policy analyst and a C-SPAN producer/host. Two of the three call the Keystone State home, while one is from a neighboring state – but we won’t hold that against him.

Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Chester) staffer Brian Bosak – a New Jersey native – is a legislative assistant who handles business, financial and values issues. He told The Hill he was first bit by the Capitol Hill nearly five years ago.

Before joining the office of Rep. Joe Pitts (R-Pa.), Bosak spent several months as an intern at the nearby Heritage Foundation.

One assignment from that time stands out in his memory.

“I got to walk over a letter — it might have been an invitation — to then-Leader [John] Boehner’s [(R-Ohio)] office,” he says.

The delivery took him inside the Capitol building, down the ornate hallways and into the House Minority Leader’s suite for the first time.

“I remember thinking how special it was,” he says. “That was definitely one of my coolest experiences here, early on.”

He may be the only one representing a lawmaker from the Commonwealth, but two Pennsylvania natives are making their marks in other ways.

John Sonsalla of Brookhaven decided to commit to American University in high school without even visiting the campus, and told The Hill he hasn’t looked back. He is now a policy assistant at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.

Libby Casey splits her hometown loyalties between Allentown and – oddly enough – Fairbanks, Alaska. She left Pennsylvania for “The Last Frontier” at age 20, and stayed for 10 years before moving to Washington four years ago as an Alaska Public Radio correspondent. She is now a producer and host of C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal.”
