PREPARATIONS CONTINUE FOR 1,000-MILE RUN AROUND PA PROMOTING REDISTRICTING REFORM

January 26, 2011 –  The PennUltimate Run has posted a beta version of a GPS tool the public can use to track the runner/s during this one-lap run around Pennsylvania which starts April 1, 2011, the deadline for the U.S. Census Bureau to release the detailed data required for nationwide redistricting.
The purpose of The Run is to place a spotlight on 2011 political redistricting and to inspire reform in this once-a-decade process. Updated details can be found at The Run’s main web page below and include: a “blue paper” on PA redistricting reform, FAQs, an approximate route map and the GPS-tracking tool, START location & ceremony information, and ways to support The Run. The Run is not a charitable activity nor is it partisan. It’s a fun, upbeat activity of pjmathison, a professional services firm founded in 1990. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
The full GPS-tracking solution entails a smart device, software, voice & data plan, wireless broadband coverage, and continuous recharging capability powered in part by eco-friendly solar panels atop the lead runner’s jogging stroller. Live GPS-tracking will also help supporters, members of the news media, and others to join The Run in-route.
