While the Democrats are having their convention in Philadelphia, pro-Trump super PAC Rebuilding America Now is spending nearly $2.2 million on television ads in Pennsylvania and other battleground states.
The super PAC’s ad buy includes $787,000 in Florida, over $551,000 in Ohio and about $115,000 focused in the Philadelphia area. The rest are being aired nationally on cable television.
According to the ad tracking firm, CMAG/Kantar Media, the PAC’s ads aired 114 times Monday, the first day of the convention but only one of those airings occurred during primetime.
The first ad entitled “America Soaring” touches on the outsourcing of jobs and claims that Trump will bring jobs back to American factories and increase skilled labor jobs.
“We’re going to be working again. We’re going to have great jobs again,” the narrator said. “We’re going to make America great again for everyone. Greater than ever before.”
As the title suggests, the second ad is also about outsourcing jobs and includes comments Hillary Clinton made at a 2008 forum in India where she was asked if there was anything to stop the outsourcing of jobs to which she replied, “I don’t think you can effectively restrict outsourcing.”
