Public Policy Polling survey: Casey has 41-29 approval, would beat Santorum in hypothetical

On the heels of polling that seemed to indicate that Bob Casey would be vulnerable in 2012 comes a new Public Policy Polling survey that finds Pennsylvania’s senior senator with a 41-29 approval rating.

In a hypothetical head-to-head, Casey tops all potential challengers, including former Senator Rick Santorum, whom Casey outpolled 48-41 (and 49-29 among Independents) in the PPP survey.

“Bob Casey’s going to start out his reelection bid in a much better position than a lot of

the other Democrats first elected in 2006,” Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy

Polling, is quoted as saying in the press release. “He has an unusual amount of appeal to Republicans and independents.”

  1. Thats a Great Article i think they should get red of her hoarding is so bad! She could use some mental help. idk sometimes i wonder if i dont have hoarding problems. Do you ever feel like that lol?

  2. I would love to take a hard look at the demographics of the respondents to this survey, as well as, the history of the Public Policy Polling organization.

That being said, Bob Casey has a certain name recognition but ultimately he will be held accountable for the positions he has taken in the past and what he will do up through the 2012 elections.

With the Tea Party and an energized populace, name recognition does not count for as much as it used to. I would offer that a strong senatorial candidate will give Bob Casey a serious run for his money.
