Quinnipiac Poll: Biden 54, Trump 41

Following the trend of several recent polls, the latest Quinnipiac University poll shows that former Vice President Joe Biden is expanding his lead over President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.

Biden leads Trump by 13 points, 54-to-41, among likely voters in the Keystone State. This is an improvement for the former VP in comparison to Quinnipiac’s last poll released in early-September, that showed Biden with an 8 point lead over Trump, 52-to-44.

According to the analysts at FiveThirtyEight, Quinnipiac University favors Democrats by an average of 0.2% and has an overall B+ grade.

A majority of Pennsylvania likely voters view Biden favorably, while a majority of voters in the state view Trump unfavorably.

Trump’s favorability rating is identical to the previous Quinnipiac poll, while Biden made improvements in comparison to the previous poll when 46% viewed the former VP favorably, while 45% viewed him unfavorably. Trump’s job approval rating is slightly worse than his favorability rating. 41% approve of Trump’s job performance as president, while 56% said that they disapprove.

Biden has a double digit advantage over Trump on who would do a better job handling the response to the coronavirus (57-to-38), who would do a better job handling health care (56-to-39), and who would do a better job handling Supreme Court nominations (53-to-42). Trump has the advantage over Biden who who would do a better job handling the economy (50-to-46).

Numerous polls have been released over the past week that show Biden leading in the state, although this poll shows the largest margin for the Democratic presidential candidate.

A New York Times/Siena College poll of likely voters shows Biden carrying a 7 point lead over Trump, 49-to-42. A CBS poll conducted by YouGov released one day after the NYT/Siena College poll also shows Biden leading Trump by 7 points, 51-to-44, among likely voters. A Reuters-Ipsos poll of likely voters shows Biden leading by 5 points, 50-to-45, in the state. A Monmouth University shows the former VP leading the president by 12 points, 54-to-42, among registered voters in the state. A CNBC/Change Research poll released on Tuesday shows Biden carrying a 4 point lead, 50-to-46, among likely voters in the state.

Two GOP leaning polls released last week also have Biden leading the race, although the polling is tighter. A poll commissioned by Restoration PAC, a conservative super PAC, commissioned by Trafalgar Group, released last week showed Biden leading by just over 2 points, 48.1%-to-45.9%, with likely voters in the state. A Federalist/TIPP poll of likely voters released last week has Biden leading Trump by 5 points, 49-to-44.

  1. They seem to be applying Trump’s orange make-up with a trowel for his recent videos, trying to show how “healthy” he is. Laughingly reminds me of bald guys with maroon wigs that sit on white side hair. They look hideous.
