Former Vice President Joe Biden holds a slight edge over President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.
The latest Rasmussen Reports survey of likely voters in the Keystone State shows Biden leading Trump by 3 points, 48-to-45, while 4% said that they’d vote for some other candidate, and 3% that said they aren’t sure.
Biden extends his lead over Trump when “leaners” were taken into consideration. 51% said that they’d vote for Biden if the election were held today, while 46% said they’d vote for Trump, 2% said that they’d vote for some other candidate, and 1% said that they aren’t sure.
Rasmussen has been described as Trump’s “favorite pollster.” According to the analysts at FiveThirtyEight, Rasmussen favors Republicans by an average of 1.5% and has an overall C+ grade.
Outside of Biden’s lead over Trump in this poll, the rest of the survey provides more favorable numbers for the president.
While the polling indicates that Biden is leading in PA, more voters think that Trump will end up carrying the state.
46% said that they think that Trump will win Pennsylvania, regardless of who they will vote for, while 43% said that Biden will win the state, and 11% said that they aren’t sure. 41% said that they believe their neighbors will vote for Trump, regardless of who they will vote for, while 35% said their neighbors will vote for Biden, and 24% said that they weren’t sure who their neighbors would vote for.
Biden and Trump are also neck and neck in favorability rating in this poll.
50% said they either have a very or somewhat unfavorable view of Trump, while 49% said they either have a very or somewhat favorable view of the president. 49% said they either have a very or somewhat favorable view of Biden, while 48% said they either have a very or somewhat unfavorable view of the former VP.
Although Trump’s favorability rating is under water by 1 point in this poll, his job approval rating is 1 point in the positive.
50% either strongly or somewhat approve of Trump’s job performance as president, while 49% said that they either strongly or somewhat disapprove of Trump’s performance as president.
Likely voters are torn between who is the better candidate in regards to the economy and jobs. Biden and Trump are both locked in at 47% each when asked who would do a better job as President handling the economy and jobs, while 6% said that they aren’t sure.
A majority of likely voters agree on two topics in this poll – opposition to “defund the police” and support for Gov. Tom Wolf’s job performance.
63% said that they either strongly or somewhat oppose reducing the police budget in their community, while 31% said that they either strongly or somewhat favor reducing the police budget in their community, and 6% said they aren’t sure.
57% said that they either strongly or somewhat approve of Wolf’s job as governor, while 41% said that they either strongly or somewhat disapprove of Wolf’s job as governor, and 2% aren’t sure.
The Real Clear Politics Average shows Biden besting Trump by 6.6 points in Pennsylvania.

Funny, they havent even debated yet. I think that action will move the polls 10 points.
If RassPUtin poll has Biden up 3% –you can triple that to 9% — biggest FAKE poll ever
Trump can’t win a Rasmussen poll?? Lololol. Stick a fork in it – he’s done!
Fake news! Trump is up 10!
I’m more centrist than AOC and more toward Biden’s politics. I think 2020 finds a freaked out Pa electorate over the mishandling of covid19 by Trump and with no Hilary on the ticket Biden looks acceptable. This will not be 2016 repeat and Rassmussen’s numbers are overly estimating Trumps support. Biden in Pa by 12%.
TDS is a real thing. Your hate for Trump makes you think Biden will win by 12 points! You are out of your mind! Even Obama only won by 10 points in PA in 2008. Get a grip!!
Trump Derangement Syndrome-
Biden’s advantages over 2008 Obama election:
1) Obama was an unknown… Biden has experience
2) Obama was (still is) black and some Dems wouldn’t vote for a black guy to save their lives, but would still vote for Biden.
3) Trump makes Sarah Palin look smart.
4) Trump has a record to run on… and it’s terrible.
5) In 2008, Bush Jr was the worst President in US history, now Trump is.
6) Over 140,000 covid deaths… with 200,000 likely by election day.
7) Biden was born in Scranton
8) Obama wasn’t running against a guy who recommended that people inject disinfectant.
9) Biden can appeal to blue-collar Dems that strayed away from the party
10) Biden has the support of Obama.
The PA electorate is “freaked out” by Trump’s handling of the corona virus? How do you think people feel about Wolf? His actions are handing PA’s electoral votes to Trump.
53 % support Wolf, Peter – not everyone else supports Marsicano, Regan, Diamond & Metcalf, but only a small minority…….
Says the people that pick up the phone
Biden’s politics? What do nothing lol
If you have seen Biden address the public for five minutes in a row (and by design, most have not), you have to ask yourself what kind of party would cast everyone else aside to endorse him?
All I’m saying is remember 2016 and the polls back then…Who is our president today? I sincerely think there is a shy electorate who will not declare publicly it supports Trump but when Election Day comes they will cast their vote for President Trumo because they do not want to destroy our country the way AIC and her clan wants to change our country into a socialism. We need the police therefore Democrats wanting to defund the police is another critical point where Trump is ahead for much….
