Reader Poll: Do You Approve of the Supreme Court Suspending Kane’s License?

Kane-sadWe’ve reached yet another chapter in the Kathleen Kane saga.

Yesterday, the PA Supreme Court temporarily suspended the Attorney General’s law license.

There has been considerable confusion concerning whether the AG could still hold office without being a sitting member of the bar. The Court, however, wanted to make it clear that they were not removing Kane from her position.

While Kane seemed to be OK with this outcome, many of her supporters are not and complain that the Court is unnecessarily intruding into this episode.

Given all that, we thought the question should be posed to all of our readers.

  1. For those who do not remember, FYI, this is pretty much where this started, almost two years ago:

Pa. Lawmaker Calls for Impeachment of State Attorney General – Law Blog – WSJ, (Oct 22, 2013)
“Controversy over same-sex marriage is escalating – this time in Pennsylvania. Conservative Republicans in the state have been at war with Pennsylvania’s Democratic attorney general, Kathleen Kane, since this summer when the state’s top law enforcement officer said she wouldn’t defend a law prohibiting same-sex couples to marry.” [Even though the U.S. Supreme Court ruled PA’s marriage law(s) unconstitutional, the effort to impeach AG Kane has not abated.]
“Now, a high-ranking lawmaker has taken the fight to the next level. Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, a tea party-backed Republican from western Pennsylvania, circulated a memo to his colleagues calling for Ms. Kane’s impeachment.”

For the past several years, there appears to be an effort, by some Republicans, to wreak political and personal havoc and ruination to Democrats. First, and still continuing, to impeach AG Kane, and more recently, Gov Wolf, with the Budget.

  2. When you consider that the Attorney General MUST be a lawyer according to the Attorney General Act passed by the elected Legislature and signed by the elected Governor..

The other question which is obvious is why issue this very important ORDER as per curiam. This is no run of the mill matter.

It’s unsigned by any judge. Actually, it is NOT SIGNED AT ALL!

The media statements that the court was unanimous is speculative and not supported by the Per Curiam Order.

If one were to call BULLSHIT… Do you suppose we might find out that the judiciary never reviewed the matter. Or that the lawyers in the clerks office intercepted and interfered in the paperwork with their fraud concealed by Rule 1.6 Confidentiality?
Taking Kane’s license is an action which is designed to prevent her from ever offering a defense.

Should Kane be removed from office, the charges will be dropped and any opportunity to present and demonstrate the affects of improperly enacted and unconstitutional Rule 1.6 Confidentiality will be lost.

Other cases can demonstrate the matter, but cannot break the media blackout of the problem. The reason people seem to think the US Constitution is dead… is because it is being IGNORED pursuant to Rule 1.6 Confidentiality of Information.

  3. The SC suspending Kane’s Law License at this point (without a Conviction or an Admission of guilt of any “Crime”) is like……Well Suspending all SC Justices from the bench because one received Pornographic, Misogynistic or Racist e-mails so they all must have..!

“Each time a person stands for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, they send a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
    ― Robert F. Kennedy

Keep fighting AG Kane you are fighting the good fight and providing that all so scarce tiny ripple of hope !!!!

    Thank You Kathleen !!!!

  4. Wow … 39% … People are really starting to figure out what is really going on here … despite the Press’ anti-Kane piling-on … despite Craig and Angela being co-conspirators to felons who have illegally leaked tons of anti-Kane material.

Kane and her legal team must be very pleased this morning.

  5. This is obviously revenge for her taking on people who are in powerful positions. Why people can’t see this is a deliberate creation of a sideshow is beyond me, but…it’s all Benghazi now.

  6. Unlike some States, and countries, PA apparently has no provision for a recall election. How you unring the bell of an election should be carefully considered. This could open a floodgate of “removals” for voter regret. She is not the first politician who might be the victim of a political prosecution. Anyone remember Budd Dwyer?
