Reader Poll: Should Kane Be Impeached?

KaneThe Kathleen saga took yet another strange turn last week.

While awaiting news on her fate in the grand jury leak investigation, Kathleen Kane decided now would be the best time to fire the head of the appeals office, James Barker.

Initially, Kane’s spokeswoman said Barker’s departure was due to “restructuring”. Then, Kane’s office announced Barker was being fired for leaking grand jury information. Suspicions grew because Barker said he had testified in Kane’s case. We later found out his testimony contradicted Kane’s.

At the same time, Kane’s spokeswoman told the press she would be stepping down, although she insisted there was no connection between these two events.

Then, Judge William Carpenter called on Kane to appear before the Court on April 27th to explain Barker’s dismissal. Later that night, we learned the AG’s offices and emails were now subject to search warrants.

We’ve already detailed why the question of resignation is a rather pointless one to bring up.

So, instead we’re going to the heart of the matter. Do you believe the state legislature should now take up impeachment proceedings against Kathleen Kane? If so, should they actually remove the AG?

Should Attorney General Kathleen Kane be impeached?

  1. Pat,

So what? It is always a witch hunt to you libtards – when one of your own is caught up in a scandal! Imagine the headlines if it was not Hillary that we were to trust regarding her deleting emails that would have landed her in prison – imagine if it were Cheney! Letterman, Stewart, MSNBC, ABC, CBS etc etc would be destroying him every day until he was arrested! Liberals always win because you are pukes that just promis the masses of other pukes (most of the people in this once great nation) other peoples’ money! How can you ever lose you effen disgraceful human scurnbags!

That effen slunt Kane should already be in prison for being a dumbarse slunt hoe!

  2. Kane is going down. How dumb can one be? All she had to do recently was not fire the guy that the judge told her not to fire! And she did it anyway! Stupid! She may not end up in jail, but she has done a disservice to hard working women everywhere because of her utter stupidity!

  3. hahaha this whole thing is setting the stage for the latest one term Tom and the return of the AG office to the GOP. Liberal fatigue and ineffective leadership for both Wolf and Kane leads to a return to normalcy within four years. Enjoy it while you can because Harrisburg is going solid red within the next 4 years.

  4. This is what get when you hire someone with no experience. She has been in over her head since day one. Kind of reminds me of someone living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. She married a wealthy guy, used his money and made up stories about Penn State to get elected. She has been the most political AG ever. No room for that kind of stuff in the office of AG. She makes AG Preate look like a boy scout, and look where he ended up.
She deserves worse. Pack your toothbrush honey.

  5. We would NEVER lose an election. Sorry to tell you but most men love chicks and porn.

  6. C’mon Bungy, whaddya say — we’ll buy time across the state and get you to say this stuff as the new Repub spokesman. The world awaits the true face of PA Repubs.

  7. Yo Davey Boy, I would suggest some straight porn for you. But that would only be a waste of time. We all know how you liberal men roll.

  8. Elroy

With luck, we’ll never have another republican A.G. (nor governor either)

  9. Bungy-

“Most hip people watch porn at work.”

Translation: bungy watches porn at work and thinks it is hip.

    Also, it’s probably child porn.

  10. Politics is truly “The Blood Sport.” Payback is hell. Wait until the Democrats attack the next Republican Attorney General.

With all the Grand Jury leaks in the past, why has the press protected the Republican prosecutors? The Grand Jury leak investigation of the Sandusky and DeNaples Grand Juries were handled by Republican investigators investigating Republican Prosecutors. Where is the Report and the outrage?

Does attacking the first elected female Democrat AG sell more papers?

  11. Squashed corruption investigations into mod connected DeNaples and democrat lawmakers (Seth Williams is producing convictions). Not to mention the softball on the turnpike pay-to-play scandal.

More than incompetent, she’s corrupt. Her refusal to renew grand juries and firing of Barker are just two more in a long line of move’s directed to protect corruption in office.

  12. They won’t have to impeach her she’ll be arrested in a couple weeks. Most hip people watch porn at work.

  13. People have certainly painted a picture that Kane is a bumbling idiot. But, I’m not certain it rises to the level of removal from office. Of course, the PA Constitution’s threshold for impeachment is “any reason”, versus the federal “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Is “She might just be bad at her job” a compelling enough reason?

  14. They should do that – AFTER they investigate PornGate. And that judge who issued a gag order keeping porngate quiet – I’m sure he was a recipient of the porn and should be impeached too.

  15. It is possible that matters will run their course without the need for Metcalf to act; for example, if she is sanctioned for having “restructured” against a judicial-order, other dominoes can then fall [even before DA-Ferman acts].

  16. She’s jumped the shark with the recent witness intimidation. She certainly deserves impeachment, but hopefully justice will deal w/ her first.

  17. Repubs set up a phoney-baloney kangaroo court and are guilty of far worse violations than anything alleged against the AG. The final gasps of PA’s porn-watching Old Boy Network.

  18. She should be so lucky. If the Rs try to impeach her, she will get lots of sympathy she doesn’t have now.
