Reader Poll: When will the government shutdown end?

US_Capitol_Building_at_Night_Washington_DCYesterday, as you’ve no doubt heard, the federal government shut down for the first time in seventeen years. With the shutdown heading into its second day with no end in sight, it’s worth asking when will it all end?

So far, the Senate Democrats and the Obama Administration have been able to stand firm against efforts to defund or delay Obamacare. Meanwhile the House Republicans are also sticking to their guns, at least for now, though they has been much speculation over whether enough Republicans will defect and vote for a “clean” CR.

Overhanging this debate as well is the issue of the debt ceiling. According to Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, the nation will hit its borrowing limit on Oct. 17th and begin to default on its debts. This is widely seen as a potentially catastrophic event for the U.S. economy and the debate over whether Congress will raise it will likely soon fuse with the conflict over the shutdown.

So, we ask you the readers, when do you think the government shutdown will end?
