This November brings a low-key battle for a seat on Pennsylvania’s Superior Court, one of the state’s two appellate courts. Last May, McVay won an upset victory in the Democratic primary while Stabile ran uncontested in the Republican primary.

McVay is an Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge while Stabile is a former Deputy Attorney General. Stabile is a Carlisle native and was the GOP nominee for a seat on the Superior Court in 2011.

A PA Superior Court judge serves a ten-year term.

So, who do you think will win this race?

  1. Great predictions! I guess Vic Stabile will lose 0 elections for at least 10 years.

So is Corbett sitting at 52-48? LMAO

  2. Bob and KingofSpades have got it right.

Team Gleason and the Republican Establishment Insiders have failed to engage with Tea Party Republicans and the base.

This is the Rick Santorum model.

  3. No chance a Republican wins. It will be a generic race party line vote. Candidates and their message meaningless. The Ds will win with anyone. The Rs would have had to hire a “name” that would have brought significant regional votes in the West or SE. Whatever the vote, it will be a general referendum on where Corbett is right now. I agree with the Asher/Gleason hack post previous.

  4. Stabile is just another product of the Gleason-Asher good old boys network. Republican voting for McVay here!
