State Senator Mike Regan (R-York) announced his endorsement of state Senator Scott Wagner (R-York) in his bid for Governor next year.
“After evaluating the field of current and potential Republican nominees, I have come to the conclusion that Scott Wagner is the candidate who can beat Tom Wolf and reverse the trajectory of our commonwealth,” Regan said in a statement announcing the endorsement.
“The commonwealth needs a chief executive who can deliver high-impact leadership without losing sight of the big picture. Scott Wagner is the right candidate to lead our state moving forward.”
Regan is currently serving his first term as a state Senator, replacing state Senator Pat Vance who retired prior to the 2016 election. Wagner backed Regan in the contested Republican primary in that race.
Wagner is running against Allegheny county businessman Paul Mangon and businessman Kris Hart. House Speaker Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) is strongly considering a run. Former Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley is also rumored to be weighing a bid for Governor.

Scott Wagner has $53K cash on hand and over $300K of DEBT !!
He owes this debt to himself. So… would be donors… Scott is likely going to use your money to repay himself $300K.
My advice, make him forgive his campaign the DEBT.. BEFORE you sink money into his “campaign”, otherwise you are really putting money into his pocket.

if Mike Regan runs for Lieutenant Governor and I will support him as well along with Scott Wagner for Governor in 2018.
good choice Mike Regan is endorse Scott Wagner and so did I.
Note that Regan never said Wagner was a good guy or decent person or qualified or forward looking. All he could utter was that Wagner had the best chance to beat the Democrat. What a low bar for an endorsement.
Major score here for Wagner. Regan is very well liked and a rising star in the GOP. Expect more follow-on endorsements as a result of this one.
