Governor Ed Rendell continues to go off-script in his role as an advocate for the Clinton campaign.
For example, Rendell had some interesting comments for Cameron Joseph of the New York Daily News concerning the Clinton Foundation.
“I definitely think if she wins the presidency they have to disband it,” Rendell told Joseph. “I know it’ll be hard for President (Bill) Clinton because he cares very deeply about what the foundation has done. It’d be impossible to keep the foundation open without at least the appearance of a problem.”
He believes that the Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative will “have to go into a period of inactivity” during another Clinton Administration.
Rendell has always had difficulty staying on message, yet recently it has been particularly hard for him (or more accurately, the candidates he supports). Numerous times over the past few months he has praised Donald Trump, offered unsolicited advice or committed embarrassing gaffes.

@truth. Not to rain on your parade but Morrow never said King was innocent. In fact, he said King was in on the leak from the beginning. That’s why Kane tried to blame the entire thing on King. He’s far from an innocent bystander in this fiasco.

One of Morrow’s phone calls complaining about the AG was captured by a wiretap that was installed because of the McCord case. Morrow produces damaging text messages between himself and Kane.

Does not matter to whom you would hand this over for the duration of an HRC presidency. The problems, the plethora of Clinton hangers on seeking favors and the foreign and domestic donors seeking access, would remain. Part of the deal for appointment as Sec State was to wall off such things, but you see how well that worked. No one should believe for a second that there will be any less of a problem during a presidential term.

Besides, it’s a charitable organization. It’s not like it’s a for-profit business that they own stock in and foundation money is personal wealth for them.
They could hand over management in an arrangement similar to the blind trust commonly used by presidents to avoid the appearance of potential conflicts of interest. Perhaps Chelsea could take a larger role.

But Ed needs to keep his yap shut. (Yeah, like telling the wind not to blow, but still…) The Clinton Foundation does more good for more people than Rendell ever has. And not a dime of it enriches anybody in the Clinton family.
