According to Chris Brennan of the Inquirer, the Republican National Committee has secured the 2300 Arena to serve as their temporary headquarters during the Democratic National Convention.
If your formative boyhood years took place in the late 1990’s, however, you know the building as the home to the former ECW or Extreme Championship Wrestling.
ECW is generally considered the most violent professional wrestling company of all-time.
So it probably shouldn’t be a surprise that its old home will take a part in the similarly combative tradition of American politics.
GOP officials and operatives will be available at the 2300 Arena for interviews…although there may be a shortage of tables.
