UPDATE: RNC to Drop $3M in PA

Reince Priebus

The hits just keep coming. The Republican National Committee will spend $3 million on television in Pa. in the final week.

Chairman Reince Priebus tweeted this on Thursday afternoon: “RNC IE unit is up w over $3 million ad buy in PA – over $2.5 on broadcast TV.”

That brings the GOP’s total to nearly $12 million for the final week, compared to just $1.6 million in Dem spending.

UPDATE

The ad has been released. Titled “It’s OK,” the ad highlights President Obama’s promises he made that when he took office, such as cutting the deficit, strengthening the economy and lowering the unemployment rate.

“What did we get? National debt over $15 trillion and climbing, unemployment at 8 percent for 40 straight months, an ongoing economic crisis with no end in sight. He tried. You tried. It’s OK to make a change.”

  1. Too little too late. If they wanted to win this state, they should have been here over a month ago.

They’ve bought all of the available time in Ohio and Wisconsin, so they might as well dump the rest of their $$$ on a hail mary here.

    Won’t work though.

  2. All of the indicators that I am seeing are pointing the right way. Absentee applications and returns are looking good for the Republicans. Also committee enthusiasm appears high. An advertising carpet bombing could put us over the top, by encouraging our people to come out and discouraging theirs. I do not believe that these ads change many minds, but they definitely can impact turnout.

  3. Our blogging platform at http://diplomaticallyincorrect.org/ is looking for writers that focus on political and economic events around the world. Each post should be between 300 and 500 words 4-5 times per month, keywords will be provided if you are looking to write on specific topics. We ask that once you write your post on Diplomatically Incorrect.com that you also distribute the post to your followers. Please apply for this position by emailing us at info@upgradedstrategies.com. If you are selected we will ask you to register at the site during that time.

  4. From what I am hearing, there is good reason to think that RomneyRyanSmith win. There are those who believe the Democratic polls and they may be right but there are other solid polls that challenge the conventional wisdom. I think Penna goes Romney Ryan Smith.

I don’t know about the rest of the ticket though.

  5. especially crap like the mailer i got today from pat “job creators” meehan which used the discredited LIES about medicare to smear george badey.

maybe their attempts will backfire on them as they try to LIE their way to more power

  6. These party leaders, PAC leaders and consultants kill me. They don’t have any clue. They just jump on the latest bandwagon in a frenzied manner. They say “Oh look PA might be in play and we have $3 million sitting around to play with because we had no idea how to budget and target, so let’s dump what we have left into PA where it only costs 1/3 of that to saturate the airwaves for the one week that is remaining in the campaign.” Complete waste of donors’ money and it really irks the voters to see and hear nonstop ads one after the after.

  7. Just like I commented last week to the folks questioning weather Romney was gaining in PA….if the money comes in from the RNC in the last week then that would indicate Romney’s strength is growing. BOOM!!
