PoliticsPA’s Up & Down: 11/12 Edition

This week on Up & Down, we give a thumbs up to Speaker McCall for calling the House back into session, Mayor Ravenstahl for pursuing his legislative agenda despite the adversity presented by City Council and the incoming Pa. Senate delegation for getting things off to a good start with a meeting between Casey and Toomey. In addition, we praise Pat Toomey for a good start to his Senate career with his appearance on CNN last weekend. On the other hand, good government folks can’t seem to decide how they feel about the legislature’s lame duck session, with some advocates pushing the legislature to have a lame duck session while others lamenting the lack of accountability that comes with the session. Last but not least, it is interesting that the anti-Nutter Philadelphians have been loud in their criticism of the Mayor but short on candidates to try and knock off the incumbent.
