This week in our post-election Up & Down: Pat Toomey ran a solid campaign and holding off the last-minute Democratic surge was no easy task and Tom Corbett held on despite his gaffes and his advisors deserve a lot of credit for steering the ship through rough seas. Reps. Altmire and Critz held back the GOP wave but can they continue their luck? The Pennsylvania Republican Party exceeded a lot of people’s expectations and they have a lot of electoral accomplishments to be proud of. In addition, State Rep. Todd Eachus was not so lucky, he got caught up in underestimating his opponent and he paid the price. The Philadelphia Democratic Machine did their part for Sestak on Election Day but where were they for the last 6 months? What’s with Dan Onorato losing Allegheny County, the county he is responsible for governing? Finally, Gov. Rendell has been doing the national media circuit for months now, but did it come at a price locally?
