This has been a day of dueling press releases by the Altmire and Critz campaigns. The Altmire campaign formally responded to the allegations made by the Critz campaign earlier in the week. The Critz campaign then pushed back against the Altmire statement.
Having been out of the news for some time, the former senator from Pennsylvania was briefly mentioned on the stage in Arizona as Mitt Romney blamed his chief rival, Rick Santorum, for his 2004 endorsement of the senator who became a Democrat and voted for President Obama’s signature health care plan that’s so hated by conservatives.
Good Wednesday morning and welcome to the Buzz! Last night was the last scheduled debate between the Republican candidates for President. Sen. Santorum’s record as the U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania came under close scrutiny. A point of contention was Santorum’s support of Arlen Specter in the Republican primary in 2004. Sen. Santorum said he was assured Specter would support conservative judges for the federal bench. Former Gov. Romney, on the other hand, believes Santorum’s support of Specter provided the 60th vote to overcome a filibuster of health care reform.
Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick payed a visit to St. Joseph’s University students on Tuesday night in a discussion spanning topics of sustainable energy, foreign policy, immigration and Medicare to name a few.
Legislative leaders met in negotiation this morning and did not agree on new maps for the General Assembly. They will meet again next Tuesday.

Rep. Mark Critz filed in Commonwealth Court Tuesday alleging that Rep. Altmire did not file enough signatures to get on the ballot. Critz’s camp says that 941 of Altmire’s 1,651 petitions signatures are invalid. Updated with Altmire camp response.
