Sestak Won’t Tell CNN If He Supports Pelosi, but Votes with Her 100% of the Time

Allentown, PA – As Pat Toomey surges in the polls, Congressman Joe Sestak is playing coy, refusing to answer CNN’s questions about whether he thinks Nancy Pelosi should continue as Speaker of the House.

Yesterday, CNN’s Jim Accosta asked Congressman Sestak if he still supports Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House after having voted for her in 2007 and 2009.  Congressman Sestak refused to answer this basic question.

And there is a simple explanation for Congressman Sestak’s newfound reticence – because he doesn’t want Pennsylvania taxpayers to know that he votes with liberal Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time on all the major policy issues.  Bailouts, stimulus, government-run health care, record deficits, cap-and-trade energy tax – Congressman Sestak rubberstamped Nancy Pelosi’s extreme agenda on all of it.

“Congressman Sestak went to Washington and became just another Washington politician who will say one thing to voters and do another thing in Congress,” Toomey Communications Director Nachama Soloveichik said.  “Joe Sestak voted with Nancy Pelosi for the cap-and-trade energy tax, the government-run health care bill, the bloated stimulus bill, and all of the bailouts.  He voted with Nancy Pelosi 100% of the time and now he won’t answer a simple question about whether or not Nancy Pelosi should continue as speaker?  No wonder Pennsylvanians are rallying to Pat Toomey’s candidacy and abandoning Joe Sestak’s political grandstanding.”
