SP&R Poll: Biden 44, Trump 42

President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden are neck and neck in the Keystone State in this latest poll.

According to a new poll from Susquehanna Polling and Research, Biden leads Trump by 2 points, 44-to-42, among likely voters in Pennsylvania, while 7% remain undecided with a combined 6% either choosing another candidate or declining to answer the question. Biden’s lead is within the poll’s margin of error.

Trump has narrowed the gap in the race in comparison to the two SP&R polls conducted earlier this year. An April FOX43/SP&R poll showed Biden leading Trump by 6 points, 48-to-42, while polling in June showed Biden with a 5 point advantage, 46-to-41.

While SP&R has a reputation of being a GOP-leaning pollster, the analysts at FiveThirtyEight grade them as slightly leaning towards Democrats.

Multiple polls released last week show Biden with a lead over Trump in the state, although the margin varies by the pollster. A Monmouth University poll of registered voters and Morning Consult poll of likely voters both showed Biden leading Trump by 4 points, 49-to-45, in the state. A Quinnipiac University poll of likely voters has Biden with an 8 point advantage over Trump, 52-to-44.

The Real Clear Politics Average shows Biden besting Trump by 3.9 points in Pennsylvania.

SP&R surveyed 498 likely Pennsylvania voters between August 26 and September 4. The telephone poll has a margin of error of +/-4.3% at the 95% confidence level.

  1. FiveThirtyEight gives Susquehanna Polling and Research a C grade. Take it with a grain of salt. I do think the polling will tighten between Biden and Orange Marmalade.

  2. The D governors have done everything they can to use the virus to destroy the economy and stop Trump. No matter how many lives were adversely affected with businesses and school closings.

With of course the help of the national media obsessed with anti Trump but protecting the Biden people.

Still nada about Pelosi’s hair salon visit in violation of her own orders.

Biggest issue is the fraud in filling out the Biden ballots in the cities by the ward leaders.

The FBI and US Attys will need to be proactive and vigorous in investigation and prosecution.

Would love to see PA’s virus response issues investigated for favoritism to some businesses.

    1. OMG, Pelosi went to the hair salon. Trump looks like he has had a couple haircuts too. But nada, right?

    2. Alias76 …You are missing the point. We are at 180,000 gone from the virus and you are doing the Keystone State Two Step around the reality that Trump bungled the handling of the virus. It’s sad and hilarious that your main rebuttal point is that a nearly 80 year old woman did not have a mask on during her hair washing. Are you serious??? What about the 180,000 deceased from the virus??? That you fail to address. I hope I have helped you understand what matters. Your welcome.

      1. Most of those were killed by the Governors of NY, NJ, MI, and our great state of PA.

Don’t blame Trump. Blame the Democrats.
