Stabile Dominates Another Fundraising Period

Vic Stabile
Vic Stabile

Vic Stabile raised more than $250,000 to Jack McVay’s $96,000 as the candidates enter the home stretch in the race for an open Superior Court Seat.

Although still thrashing McVay in fundraising, the gap this quarter is much closer than the previous when Stabile raised 20 times more than his opponent.

According to the AP, Stabile’s supporters have been writing big checks. He received $50,000 from the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, $30,000 from Governor Corbett and $2,500 from the American Medical Association.

McVay’s funds come primarily from an amalgam of union groups whose contributions total just under $30,000.

The Cycle 5 fundraising period lasted from June 11 to October 21.

The race for Superior Court is the only statewide election this year, which will feature mostly local seats. Stabile is a Harrisburg lawyer and former chairman of the Cumberland County GOP. McVay is a family judge from Pittsburgh.

With just eight days until the election, Stabile has an immense cash advantage, but McVay just released a positive television ad that may bolster his chances. McVay may cement the geographic advantage of his Pittsburgh roots if he’s able to reach voters with his new ad.
