State Representative Tony Payton, Jr. in Lansdowne Going Door-to-Door and Talking to Voters With Highly Decorated Army Veteran Shannon Meehan, Candidate for the 163rd House District

LANSDOWNE—Yesterday, State Representative Tony Payton, Jr., joined the growing grassroots army of   Democratic nominee for the 163rd District and former Army Captain, Shannon Meehan.  The two went door-to-door for hours in Lansdowne talking to voters about how to save and create jobs in Delaware County and how to get our economy back on track for hard-working people all over Pennsylvania.
Shannon Meehan was born and raised in Eastern Delaware County where he attended Upper Darby High School and was an All-Delco, Hall of Fame wrestler before attending Virginia Military Institute and serving our nation as a Tank Platoon Leader in Iraq. Among his many commendations are the Bronze Star, The Army Commendation for Valor and the Purple Heart. Tony Payton, in only his second term has already established himself as a tough reform-minded legislator who knows how to fight for ordinary people and get things done. He made a powerful addition today to the ever-growing contingent of volunteers and supporters who canvass on behalf of Shannon Meehan every day.
“Creating jobs and cleaning up Harrisburg are among my top priorities and that is why I was honored that Representative Payton chose to come to my district and speak directly with voters about what we need to do to move this state forward,” Meehan said. “My supporters and I are out knocking doors every day and we will continue to be out every day building support to shake-up Harrisburg and end the career politicians’ stranglehold on power in our community and our Commonwealth.”
Meehan and Rep. Payton braved the nearly-100-degree heat to bring a message of change directly to the people for the November 2nd Election.
“Shannon Meehan is a genuine American hero.” said Rep. Payton. “The fact that Shannon wants to continue his service to community after what he has already sacrificed is an amazing testament to his character, his sense of community and his will and it is exactly the kind of selfless leadership we need more of from our elected representatives these days.”
