DGA Hits Back at Mastriano’s “No Comment Express” Tour

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA) has decided to comment where none is forthcoming from Republican candidate for governor in Pennsylvania, Doug Mastriano.
The state senator from Franklin County recently conducted a bus tour through northwestern PA counties Armstrong, Crawford, Erie, Lawrence, Mercer and Venango in August.
During the public rallies, the candidate took no questions from the audience, nor did he speak to reporters prior to or after the event.
A reporter for WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh was blocked from trying to interview Mastriano in Lawrence County by an aide. An ExploreVenango reporter was denied access to a rally, while a WICU-TV crew in Erie was blocked from attending a rally it had been invited to. Others that have been denied access to the candidate include The Oil City Derrick, New Castle News and ExploreClairon.com.
Mastriano, however, has been available to speak with what could be considered more-friendly, right-wing media sources, such as Steve Bannon’s War Room on Rumble or Fox News.
“The vitriol coming out of the media is indicative that they’re afraid we’re going to win,” he said. “I’ve got bad news for them … we’re going to win on November 8.”
So the DGA has decided to speak up … running ads in local papers including the Sharon Herald, Erie Times-News and Meadville Tribune. Each ad includes a direct quote from the newspaper it is running in to showcase Mastriano’s actions toward the outlet. The Erie Times-News ad is shown below.
“Doug Mastriano is the most dangerous gubernatorial candidate in Pennsylvania history, so it’s no surprise he’s dodging questions on his ties with antisemitic extremists, his involvement in the deadly Jan. 6 insurrection, and his extreme plan to ban abortion with no exceptions,” said DGA Deputy Communications Director Sam Newton. “While Mastriano continues his ‘No Comment Express,’ these will remind Pennsylvanians that Mastriano is already leaving them behind in pursuit of his extreme agenda.”
