“In a speech Monday night at Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex lasting an hour and 40 minutes, former President Donald Trump pledged to make America wealthy again, healthy again, strong again, proud again, safe again, free again and great again.

“I will support universal school choice,” he pledged. “We will keep the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency.”

He also pledged to deliver lower taxes and regulations, to defend religious liberty and the Second Amendment, to put a 10% cap on credit card interest rates, and to “drill, drill, drill.”” (Indiana Gazette)

“Five months to the day after the April 23 primary, Jamie Walsh was certified as the Republican nominee for the 117th District state House seat.

The Luzerne County Board of Elections certified the result of the race on Monday, which means the election bureau may now finalize the ballot for the Nov. 5 general election. Walsh defeated incumbent state Rep. Mike Cabell by four votes, 4,735 to 4,731.” (Wilkes-Barre Citizens Voice)

“After back-to-back losses to the New York Mets, the Phillies’ quest to lock up the National League East finally ended in Philly and Citizens Bank Park was buzzing on Monday night. The Phillies clinched the division title in a 6-2 win over the Chicago Cubs — their first NL East crown since 2011. It’s certainly a cause for celebration.

After the game the Phillies players celebrated their 12th NL East crown in franchise history with beer and champagne showers and other joyous festivities in another step forward to Red October.” (Philadelphia Inquirer)
